DR. JAMES HERRMANN
Dr. James “Jamie” Herrmann graduated Cum Laude from Texas A & M’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. He completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Auburn University from 2014 to 2015. He then completed a specialty internship in ophthalmology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2015 to 2016. He recently completed his 4-year combined master’s degree and comparative ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. Dr. Herrmann has spoken at numerous regional and national conferences including the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine Fall Conference, VMX (Veterinary Meeting and Expo), the Midwest Veterinary Ophthalmology Society annual meeting, and the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology annual meeting. He has been published in journals such as Veterinary Ophthalmology, and his research interests include canine conjunctival melanoma, canine retrobulbar cellulitis and abscessation, and iontophoresis for the treatment of equine keratomycosis. Dr. Herrmann will be working at both the Campbell Road and the Bay Area Veterinary Specialists locations and is available for off-site equine examinations and surgery.
In his spare time, Dr. Herrmann loves to be out at the baseball diamond, either coaching travel ball teams or watching the Houston Astros play. He also loves to be on the water slinging baits for largemouth bass.
